STOP-VIRUS

The aim of the STOP-VIRUS research project will be to create composite polymeric matrices based on both metallic NPs, in particular copper (CuNP), and essential oils that can offer valid help in contrasting the spread of the virus, showing antiviral properties. In particular, these polymeric matrices could be used for the treatment, "coating", of filters for masks to increase the effectiveness of PPE, developing safer devices and therefore with better shielding properties. Furthermore, these “coatings” could make any other contact surface antiviral, finding applications in many other sectors, not only in the biomedical one, such as for example the textile and food sectors.
