Eloise Mastrangelo

Research staff

I gradueted in Chemistry at the University of Florence, and obtained my PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the the Department of Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnology of the University of Milan.
After four years (2001-2005 ) in pharmaceutical companies (AlfaWasserman-Bologna e SienaBiotech-Siena), in June 2005 I became researcher at CNR-IBF.
Manager of IBF - Milano since 2018, I am currently a group leader for a team of more than 15 employees.
My main research interest concerns the development of new drugs through structural and functional studies of proteins involved in human pathologies among which tumors, rare diseases, virus infections and neuro-degenerative diseases. My studies integrates X-ray crystallography, Small-angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS) and, more-recently, Cryo-electron microscopy together with computational biology and AI methods and protein biochemistry and biophysics, to address biological questions related to different human diseases and to explore novel therapeutic strategies.
