Sensory organs (hearing and olfaction)

I am involved in studying the dynamics that occur in sensory organs, focusing primarily on hearing and olfaction. My interest extends to the perception, transduction, modulation, and propagation of external signals to the brain, with the aim of fully understanding the processes that connect us to the external world and facilitate interaction with it. To gain a more comprehensive understanding of the studied events, I have employed various advanced techniques, including: 1) electrophysiology (patch clamp) with simultaneous calcium visualization using fluorescent probes (Ca imaging); 2) UV-flash photolysis of 'caged' compounds; 3) double-patch recordings; 4) finally, immunohistology.
