BOW – Biogenic Organotropic Wetsuits

The main objective is to explore and consolidate the technology able to impart some important properties of extracellular vesicles (EVs), namely the biological surface precision and the circulation and targeting ability, to superparamagnetic nanodevices, by “dressing” them with a single or multi-layer “weitsuit” of EVs membrane “fabric”. BOW Consortium is coordinated by Consorzio Interuniversitario per lo Sviluppo dei Sistemi a Grande Interfase, Italy (Prof. P. Bergese), and has 10 partners: Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Italy; Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, Spain; Max-Planck Institute, Germany; Zabala Innovation Consulting, Spain; Helmholtz Zentrum München, Germany; Institute of Technology Sligo, Ireland; ETH Zurich, Switzerland; Hansabiomed Life Sciences OU, Estonia; Biodevice Systems SRO, Czechia; Rigenerand srl, Italy. The CNR participate with 4 institutes: IBIM, IBF, IBBR, ISMN. Within the project Consortium Manno's team at the Institute of Biophysics is specifically focused on the production and biophysical characterisation of high-grade vesicles with biomimetic and organotropic functions, as well on their manipulation and engineering
