Working with the schools

Law 107 of 2015 called “La Buona scuola” (“the Good School”) introduced a new teaching mode, compulsory for all students in the last three years of high school, which is called “Alternanza Scuola Lavoro “ (“Alternating School and Work”).
The aim of “Alternanza Scuola-Lavoro” is to provide students, including Liceo students, with a practical experience which may help them not only strengthen their school achieved knowledge and put their attitudes to a test in a real-life context, but also help them towards their future study and work choices.
Following this line, during the last few years the Institute of Biophysics proposed several projects aimed at students from both technical schools and scientific Liceo, for an overall total of 93 students hosted at its laboratories.
Students involved in Alternanza Scuola Lavoro at IBF worked on software development, cyber security, coding, web design as well as on laboratory activities and on organizing activities for events, conferences and science fairs.
During the last school year, IBF signed an experimental agreement with ISS Majorana-Giorgi (high school) in order to supply a taylored learning path especially designed for its students at the Applied Sciences Liceo.
Within this agreement, students out of three classes followed laboratories aimed at provide them with a clear insight into the work of the Biophysicist and, more in general, the work in the scientific context.
