Tematiche di ricercaa) Sviluppo di nuove metodologie ed apparati strumentali basati sulla spettroscopia di fluorescenza e fosforescenza del triptofano, idonei per lo studio di proprietà strutturali e dinamiche di proteine in differenti mezzi e condizioni sperimentali (soluzioni acquose, membrane biologiche, ghiaccio, stato secco, micelle, silica gel, film sottili, proteine adsorbite su supporto solido), utilizzando anche variazioni di pressione idrostatica (fino a 7 kbar).
b) Progettazione e realizzazione di sonde ottiche (fluorescenti e fosforescenti) reporter di parametri biomolecolari (polarità, viscosità, presenza di specifici metaboliti) per spettroscopia in vitro ed imaging cellulare ad alta risoluzione spaziale e temporale.
