The Human Brain Project (HBP) is a ten-year, large-scale European Flagship initiative whose goal is to understand the human brain and its diseases and ultimately to emulate its computational capabilities. The Biophysics Institute is joining this challenge: senior scientist Dr. Michele Migliore and two other Italian teams have been granted funding by HBP to carry out a two-year research project focusing on “Neuroantibodies” within the “Strategic Mouse Brain data” subproject.
They Biophysics Institute in Palermo has recently been granted funding by the Cassa di Risparmio delle Province Lombarde (CARIPLO) to carry out a two-year collaboration project focusing on the molecular and cellular bases of serpin conformational diseases. Project Leader Dr. Mauro Manno.
The research and networking project “M3-HABs - Risk Monitoring, Modelling and Mitigation of Benthic Harmful Algal Blooms along Mediterranean coasts", led by Dr. Massimo Vassalli, is now beginning its second year of activity. The project is supported by European funding through the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI).
